'Hey Diddle Diddle' and 'Mary Mary Quite Contrary' have been our new entries this week.
We have set up a small world for the children to re-enact the songs.
"Are these real flowers?" asked the children |
Children practised their song using the props available.
We have made Mary a wonderful garden in the outside area |
Our week would not have been completed without a good bake off...so we felt adventurous enough to test a new recipe. We made apple and raisin turnovers.
Mixing the filling. |
Folding the parcel. |
Sealing the turnover. |
Baked... |
As always we tested our palates and agreed they tasted REALLY good.
Meanwhile leaves kept falling and our outdoor area needed some tiding up...
"I do this at home" |
Jack Frost has coated most surfaces with a layer of ice and frost.
"Let's draw some pictures" |
Others opted for ice soup.
We have also used our nursery rhymes again to help us with our maths, using the flowers in Mary Mary's garden to solve number stories, look at these addition and subtraction number sentences we have written.
Congratulations to Siena, our Golden Book winner this week for taking another huge step forward on your road to becoming a reader.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and remember to bring in your costumes no later than next Friday in a named bag.
