Week Beginning 19.3.2018

We started this rather COOL  week with the story of  'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. Most children knew the story and contributed to it with their knowledge of butterflies, life cycles and healthy/unhealthy foods.

Children made caterpillars using play dough and plenty of creativity.

Some felt very inspired and drew lovely pictures of the caterpillar.

We are sure some of are wondering which new yoga pose we have learnt this week....?
Well we are please to inform you that we started the week with a 'You are Great!' pose. In lotus position children closed their eyes and thought of positive things to say about themselves. All children felt comfortable sharing out loud their thoughts and pampering their little ego...well done Class1!
Following the positive vibe of 'You are Great!' we then explored the Windmill pose which involved connecting our left side of the body to the right side. We drew an imaginary line that crossed the midline of our body and helped our left side reach the right side by touching the opposite foot to the hand.

We have ventured out into our new play area for the first time this week and are feeling very lucky to have such lovely things to play with.  We still have many finishing touches to add but could wait no longer to go and 'test out' what is out there.

Thursday was Sport Relief day in school and what a fantastic day it was... Thanks to everyone that baked and bought cakes for our cake sale which made nearly £70 for the worthy cause.

An even bigger thanks to Mr Knights for arranging a super PE session.  Keeping in with the Sport Relief billion step challenge, we tried to complete enough steps to climb the Eiffel tower in the time we had, we worked in teams so that if we were tired we could tag the next team member to take over.

We finished with an extra challenge; a water relay, using only spoons to fill the cups!  A fantastic effort from everyone well done.

Congratulations to Lydia who won the Cupcake category in our Bake Off competition with these football buns.

Have a super weekend everyone.

Remember if you are making a bonnet that they need to be in school by next Wednesday for judging ahead of Thursdays presentation.
