Toys!

What did children used to play with?  How has this changed?

These are the questions that we have been asking this week in Class 1 as were introduced to our book about a 'Lucky Duck'
Lenny (the little boy in the story) lost his favourite toy while visiting his Grandma and couldn't find it anywhere, it was only when Lenny grew up and had his own children that he took his son Ben to Grandma's only for Ben to stumble across a very old and tatty looking Duck in the attic.

We spent time talking about our own favourite toys and whether any of these had been passed onto us by our parents.

We also set up a toy museum in class where we spent time writing labels instructing people how to look after the old toys correctly.

We also set up our own toyshop role play area...

World Book Day

A big thank you to Halesworth Bookshop again this year who made it possible for the children to order there books in advance ready to take home with them on the day.

We had a special visit in assembly from Elmer, who shared some stories. In class we stopped to read as many of the children's books that they had bought in from home as possible.

Congratulations to Lenny our Golden Book winner for today for being so enthusiastic with everything we do.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
