Week beginning 31.10.16

Welcome back to the start of the new term. We hope you all had a good break. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces in class 1 as well as around the school this week and the children are really showing an eagerness to learn which is also great to see. We have a busy term planned ahead once again! (Topic letters are in bags tonight (Friday) to keep you informed.  We have started our week with very exciting activities based on Fireworks, which have included baking Katherine wheels, cheese  and tomato scrolls, toasting marshmallows, firework maths, firework art and much more....

Have a look at our busy time in school:

Preparing our Katherine wheels, spreading pasata and sprinkling with cheese, before carefully rolling into shape.

The finished item ready for baking.

Toasting marshmallows, a lot of fun! But also a huge amount of learning about fire safety. Well done everyone.

Oops! Miss Welby have I got it on my nose?

Congratulations to Horace and Logan, our Golden Book winners this week.

Don't forget 'Friends of Wenhaston' firework competition to be handed in on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and don't forget all of those firework safety tips we have learnt this week, if you are going out over the weekend.
