Week Beginning 18.6.2018

"A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood. A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good......"
This week Reception have been learning about the author Julia Donaldson. We have had a literacy focus on the story ‘The Gruffalo’.
Can your child retell the story using different voices for the characters?
Can they describe what the Gruffalo looks like?

Here is a selection of pictures showing some of the activities we have covered in class.

Play dough Gruffalos

Just like Julia Donaldson, children had a go at creating their very own imaginary creatures using a computer programme.

We made our own mini Gruffalo crumbles

Weighing the ingredients

Mixing and stirring

It smells delicious this Gruffalo...

Ready to bake

Finishing touches

Voilà  Gruffalo crumbles ready to eat!

Wednesday morning was a very exciting time for us all as we went to visit Mrs Flynn and Mrs Curtis in Class 2.  We were all very keen to come back and tell all the grown ups in Class 1 how we had got on and what we had been doing.

We then got back to our usual Class 1 goings on and finished the week with some super Maths and English activities and plenty of time out in the sunshine.

Congratulations to Thomas, we had news today that you are the proud winner of the Asset reading award for the fantastic progress you have made this year.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
