Week Beginning 25.6.2018

Dear all, the Gruffalo is still very much with us in Class One and this week we have been feeling rather creative. We have been working on a classroom display based on the story of the Gruffalo. A wood is growing on the wall .....

 

 

and Gruffalo's heads are slowly  appearing around us...

 

His eyes are orange, his tongue is black....he has purple prickles all over his back!

 

 

Children worked in groups to act out the story of the Gruffalo. They had to choose their role explain why they wanted to be that particular character and organise the play.
Here are the boys at work...

'Owl ice-cream! I'm off little mouse....!'

'Hello little mousssssssssssssssssssse. Come for a feasssssssst in my log pile house'.

We have had lots of time for independent activities going on too...

Building models with both 2D and 3D shapes.

 

 

 We have been given lots of lovely new books and have been spending time enjoying them.

 

 

During our phonics sessions we have been very busy using and applying our new sounds this week.  We had to listen to the word and find out which box we should write it in.

 

 

We concluded our week with a little preparation for the forthcoming Wenhaston Garden Show.  The children looked at some pictures of some wedding flowers and created their own wonderful pictures using watercolour pencils.
