wb 20.2.17

Phew!
What a busy first week back we've had!
We continue to enjoy exploring our ice cave and writing on the ice wall.
Practising our tricky words and ccvc words in phonics.
We were pleased to welcome Mr Knights on Wednesday this week and were even more pleased that we are continuing our Gymnastics work.
 Some super balancing.
Sticking with our icy theme, this week we have been learning about emperor penguins in Antarctica.  We also enjoyed making our very own raspberry and banana ice cream, yummy.
Wednesday afternoon and we were lucky enough to have a visit from two farmers with their tractor, we found out all about how the tractor helps with the production of our food.  We also look at some different grain crops and found out which foods they are used in.
''Look Daddy I'm in Shaun's tractor''

In maths we have been working hard to find out more about two digit numbers and how they are made from two parts; tens and ones.  We have also been finding out whether or not they are odd or even.

Friday, we all got busy in the outdoor area clearing up after storm Doris, what busy work.

Finally we finished with some lovely 3D artwork, just look at all of these penguins.

Congratulations to Lily, our Golden Book winner this week for a fantastic piece of independent writing abut penguins.

Don't forget... Next week is brilliant book week in school and Thursday is National World Book Day.  Come dressed as your favourite character and help raise funds for the school council.  Get planning those costumes if you haven't done so already.
