Week Beginning 30.1.2017

This week we got better at finding out facts about Alaska and people who live there. Most of us already knew what igloos are and what they are used for. What we didn't know was how to build one so we had a little practice at it. Have a look...

Of course arctic fishing couldn't be missed...and what a catch!

Despite all these lovely activities the top attraction of the week has to be tobogganing! Look at that slope and give us your thumbs up for bravery and physical skills...

In class we have been working very hard on our independent writing and starting to make some super progress...
Sentence writing in phonics.

Writing on the whiteboard.

Writing in our books, comparing our lives to those of Inuit children we have been learning about this week in class.

In maths we have been thinking about shape, pattern and positional language,
We built 'Beebot some steps and a ski slope to relive our toboggan experience from earlier this week.  The challenge was to get him up the steps and down the slope.  Lots of conversation was generated between pairs of children working together.

Congratulations to Dotty, our Golden Book winner this week for super writing in class.
