Have a look at some of the activities that kept everybody busy...
We matched objects with their initial sounds.
'O is for octopus'.
A lovely decoration of the sound 'g' and a good attempt at writing it too. |
'3 is the smallest number and 7 is the biggest'.
'2 is the smallest and 4 is the biggest'.
We thought it would be a great idea to add some biscuits to her basket and got busy baking a yummy batch of shortbread biscuits.
Chop the butter......
and a mix it with sugar...
add some flour....
and there you have it..............shortbread biscuits.
In phonics later on in the week we have started to use the knowledge of all of the sounds we have been learning and putting them into words. Look at this fantastic writing...
We are also spending time making sure that we recognise sounds in different fonts.
In PE with Mr Knights this week we had to make our bodies even bigger (using our aeroplane wings) and use our new skills linked to negotiating space to get to the airports safely.
Well done everyone, as well as having lots of fun you have shown that you really do now understand how to use the space safely.
In maths we finished the week thinking about all of the different ways that we can show the same number. Our target number was 10 and the challenge was to show this in a different way to anyone else. This involved a lot of thinking but the children managed to find many different ways.
Finally we finished our week with a visit from our friends from Blyth Woods. The children gathered the next lot of acorns to plant out in our tree nursery. Much fun was had by all on a lovely mild October afternoon.
Planting the Acorns, Sweet Chestnuts and Hazelnuts in our tree nursery.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
