Children enjoyed listening to the story and have become familiar with the added rhyming words.
They had the opportunity to act out/freeze framing a scene from the book.
Well done everybody for working in your groups and remembering the words.
In maths we learnt about weight and ordered and compared three different items.
"When the bucket goes down it means it is heavier"
"I can feel with my hands which one is heavy".
"This one is definitely the lightest so it will have less marbles in it"
"Yes I can feel with my hands which one is heavy!"
We used a balancing scale and marbles to weigh each item.
We had a very busy group of children who enjoyed the Valentine's spirit and made some lovely cards for their special people.
In maths we have been measuring and comparing height in then latter part of the week, the children had to build specific towers. They then add to add towers that were taller, shorter etc.
Well done to Phoebe, who after asking for some music on the whiteboard, managed to encourage most of the class to come and sing along and dance with her.
Some independent counting, well done Eli and Herb for matching all the hearts and finding the corresponding numbers of counters, good teamwork boys.
Finally the sunshine has put in an appearance in the outdoor area, Thea took the opportunity to brighten up the place with both her own and her friends lovely artwork.
Finally one more maths challenge to finish the week... Can you build Rufus? (the dog from our story)
'Yes Miss Welby, we certainly can!'
Have a lovely half term everyone.
