In Class One we sang and enjoyed this rhyme. We talked about some of the words in it and their meaning (diddle diddle: waste time, fiddle and instrument...)
We have also learnt to sing it using sign language. Why don't you ask your child/ren to show you?
Meanwhile at the challenging table children used their phonics skills to decode words, matched to the correct picture, write them in the sand tray and built the word they started from with the sounds available on the table.
We had special visitors in school this week. The Police came to work with Class Four and before they left we were allowed to go outside and explore the Police van! Needless to say we were all very excited, adults included.
'Wow! it's real!'
To our surprise our children wanted to sit at the back , in the cell.
'Can you shut the door please?'
'This is so cool!'
In maths this week we have been using the Bee Bots, with our partner we had to think about which direction we needed to travel, whether he needed to turn left or right and then put in the instructions to make him move.
We have had an amazing creation in Class 1 throughout the second part of the week, our Bat cave / Science Fair... Children worked together brilliantly to share their ideas for the initial build, add enhancements and use it in their play. They then 'bugged' the entire class room with 'cameras' to monitor the goings on in Class 1.
Some super writing to add labels....
And a warning ; Beware cameras are watching.
This then inspired some other independent writers to get creative.
''A fly in the sky flying in the jungle'
Congratulations to Ethan, our Golden Book winner today for being a 'super speedy' changer every time we have PE.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
