Week beginning

This week we have carried on working in our woodland area and have created some rather interesting cone men.

Everybody found time to explore the messy area and made some lovely Gruffalo's cookies as suggested by some of the children.

Our focus in Maths this week was Taking away. We practised subtractions using socks on a washing line. It worked well as it helped us work out/check the answers.

AG couldn't resist the socks temptation and made up some take away number sentences. Well done you!

The construction area has been visited by most children who took up the challenge to build a car for the Gruffalo and the other characters in the story.

At the beginning of the week we visited Bungay Primary for a Creative Day with other children and had an amazing time.

Waiting to choose what to do....

                                                 Giant Connect Four

And lots of Physical challenges for all....

A well deserved lunch break to restore our energy level and feel our tummies.

Week beginning 13th June

It's not every week we are lucky enough to have world class cyclists passing through our countryside.  KS2 went off to watch the event, leaving us to bring the Aviva Cycling Tour to our front playground.
We set out a track and timed our laps on both the scooter and the bike.

Some action shots of our circuit.

And the winner is...
...James, who was fastest time on the bike and the joint fastest time with Samuel on the scooter.

Much fun was had by all.

Our Gruffalo topic is underway and we have already started transforming our classroom to display all of our lovely learning so far...
Lovely writing

Congratulations to Jake, our Golden Book winner for this week.

Next Tuesday is our Outdoor learning day at Bungay Primary, if you have an old plastic bottle at home that you no longer need,  please can you bring them in.
Thank you.

Week Beginning 6.6.2016

Welcome back. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break.
Thanks to the wonderful weather we had this week, children enjoyed a splash in the paddling pool.

Cooling down in the paddling pool

Suddenly the pool turned into a volcano...

A Royal pastry chef baking a chocolate cake for Her Majesty.

Children decided to build a Royal Den for the Queen and the King to rest and stay in the shade.

...that's better. It's cool and cosy in here.

Some of the children organised a BBQ for the Royal family and spent a long time building the perfect BBQ.

Well done to Jodie for getting her first Judo belt and for bringing it in to show.

Royal duties continued as the week went on and the children created their own salt dough party food plates and wrote their own menus.

They also made cucumber and jam sandwiches.

Some children had their first attempt at joined up handwriting and WOW! what a result.  This was recognised in class but also by Mrs Bowles in assembly, well done all of you.

Congratulations to Charlie our Golden Book winner this week.
