Friday 26 March 2021

Phew! What a busy week to finish the term in Class 1.

An important event took place on Tuesday when interviews took place for Mrs Webb's position as she starts her maternity leave.  We wish her all the very best and will keep you posted with any baby news as we hear.

We also welcome Mrs Clarke to our Class to take over Mrs Webb's days, I know she is very excited about joining us.

Elsewhere, have a look at some of this week activities...

We have sent holiday reading home for the Easter period as requested by many.

As you are aware, reports went out yesterday, if this provides you with enough information, that's fine.  If you wish to discuss it, or anything else feel free to make a parents appointment if you would like one.

Have a wonderful Easter break.

 Week beginning 14th March

Settling back into routines has continued this week in Class 1, as has our PSHE theme; this week considering the word Gratitude.

We read the text 'Bear say Thanks' and then spent time thinking about what we are thankful for in our Class.

Firstly we thought about what we bring to Class 1 and how we help to make it the fabulous class it is, we made a huge jigsaw puzzle as we felt, it represents how well we all fit together.

Brilliant!

Next we wrote thank you cards to our friends in class, telling them why/what we were grateful for.
Some of you may even have had one of these home, as some of the children enjoyed making them, so much that they made another one for somebody at home.

Elsewhere, we continue our Yoga in PE...the children are getting very good at all of the different poses now.

Finally, we finished the week with our Red Nose Day celebrations.  The children have all made a smile poster to bring home and stick in the window somewhere.
We also thought about all of the heroes who are busy raising money for this worthy cause and designed some superhero capes.
Thank you if you donated money, we will let you know a total soon.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Week Beginning 8th March 2021

And they were all reunited...let's just hope it stays this way!

It has been wonderful to be able to finally see each other and talk about our time apart. Really priceless!

We started off the week with a little bit of yoga. We learnt a new pose called CHILD POSE. As we have all been bombarded with an overwhelming amount of sensory inputs we introduced this pose to help tuning everything out and focus on ourselves. This pose is known as a safety pose which helps with breathing, relaxing and stretching our muscles on our back.

Have a look at our little yogis....

Some of us felt hopeful too and painted a rainbow:

'This is a very special picture, can we look after it?'

Elsewhere we have been getting back to routines, our daily phonics sessions are back on track with some wonderful writing...
We have been thinking about being kind this week, so have made these lovely smile badges to pass to people to make them happy.

We finished the week with our 'Inside Out Day' here we are enjoying our emotion boogie, expressing ourselves to match how we are feeling.

Finally, competition news...
It's well done to Reggie, the winner of our Extreme Lock down reading competition.

That concludes a very busy first week back.
We are very pleased and proud of our children and how they have settled back into school life.
We look forward to seeing you again on Monday.
