 Week beginning 24th May

There was a Rainbow theme in Class 1 this week...

In Maths we have been learning how to use our Tens Frames...

Our text this week has been the Rainbow Fish and we have been fascinated how the Illustrator uses colours.  We have been learning about different shades and tones and how to mix and blend colours. We then created our own fish using one colour to start...

The children have had a wonderful half term and worked well, they all deserve a well earned rest.
Happy Half Term everyone.

 Week beginning 17th

This week we have continued our learning around Flowers.

We have also started to see our flowers emerging through the soil in our pots too.

Some of us have been working on our cutting skills to create these lovely flowers to take home too.

In Maths this week we have been learning how useful the 'part part whole' model can be for problem solving.

Rained off this week for PE, Mr Sanders had a very special treat for us...he bought in his archery equipment and we got to do some target practice in the Hall instead.

Well done everyone.

Have a lovely weekend.

Week Beginning 10.5.21

Sorry that we haven't been able to post for the last couple of weeks, for some reason we have been unable to access our Blog page in school, fingers crossed all is back to normal now...

Well, we had an unusual visitor in Class 1 this week....

Not the Tiger who came to tea, but the Tiger who came to Wenhaston Primary.

We used this as a focus to learn and share Tiger facts and to do some descriptive writing,  everyone worked brilliantly and we are very proud of what we achieved.

Elsewhere in our Topic, we have gone with Reggie's choice in class, finding out about flowers...

''Do you know Miss Welby these insects are all busy here on these flowers?'

And look, these leaves and flowers have been put here to attract all different kinds of insects into the garden.

We have also started off our own seeds, which we decided to keep inside for now in case there are anymore frosts over night, but also because Theo found a slug while busy in the wildlife area in our outdoor area  and we definitely do not want that paying our seedlings a visit!

We have also been finding out about the different parts of the plant and what they are all for.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Please note, the office staff have sent home a Parent Mail letter this evening, even though you don not have to pay for your child's school meals until Year 3, please set up an account as then you will be able to use it for any other payments.
Many thanks.
