So here come the first post with... News from what we have been doing at home, rather than news from what we have been doing in class...

What busy bees you have all been!

Hello Orla... Goodness me you have been busy and we just LOVE your puppet theatre.

Hello Lenny, I know from your comments how busy you have been with our Classroom tasks.  I hope that you are helping Mummy keep the house tidy, just as you do in our Class 1 and our outdoor area.

Hello Sophie, you look like you have been busy in the garden.

Hello Eliza... what a busy girl you have been, we love your pop up shop! We hope you have plenty of supplies for your customers.  Excellent Yoga poses, we all need to find time to relax...

Hello Jacob, Mummy said you found some treasures while out on this walk, why don't you try and paint a picture of your Peacock feather.

I hope you enjoyed your Crispie cakes when you got home...

Hello Jessica

I know exactly where you are for your photo, my boys love climbing that tree too... I wonder if anyone else in the village can find it on Blackheath?

Hello Jake...Mummy has told me how hard you have been working with your phonics and we can all see this from your lovely picture...

Hello Kit and Valentine... it looks as though you have a fine mix of being busy with your schoolwork and having a wonderful time in the sunshine.

Hello Pandora... You look like you are very busy with your big sister.

(At this point we are just missing one...I will edit the post as soon as i receive this๐Ÿ˜€)

It fills us with joy to see that you are busy using things from your packs, or working on tasks from our Classroom posts.
Equally as importantly, that you are getting outside and soaking up this wonderful Spring sunshine that we have been treated to this week.
Parents and grown up helpers....THANK YOU, this wouldn't be possible without your support, if you can email a picture or two to either Mrs Storer before Tuesday afternoons or Miss Welby by Friday lunchtimes, we will be able to post the Blog every Friday afternoon.

Have a wonderful weekend with your families, we'll see you again on Monday on our Google Classroom.

Best Wishes from Miss Welby and Mrs Storer.

What a very unusual end to the week in Class 1, as it is for the rest of the country.

We have shown the children as much of their home learning packs as we can as well as continuing with other jobs in class.

We are so proud of our children's achievements to date and hope that they enjoy sharing all of this with you at home as their learning continues via the Google Classroom.

We hope to here from you via the Classroom as you can post comments and we look forward to seeing you all again in the future.

Wishing you all best wishes and good health.

Week beginning 10.3.19

We had a very important visit from our School Nurse this week to give us further instructions on hand washing.
We had to apply some special cream and then go and wash it off, we then had to put our hands into the special UV lightbox..... this was very interesting indeed.
Most of us found that we are really good at washing our palms but need to pay extra attention to our finger nails.

Keeping with our Toys theme, we decided to investigate how we may be able to power a paper rocket, except...we weren't allowed to touch it.

After much thought and excellent discussion we decided that a balloon may be helpful.

Sort Relief.  Well done to everyone who donated and came dressed in sports kit for our activities.  Between us we reached the 10k milestone.
Each class ran different distances which collectively added up to 10k.

Maths, we have been using pennies to pay for things and to make different totals.  Well done everyone.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday.

Toys!

What did children used to play with?  How has this changed?

These are the questions that we have been asking this week in Class 1 as were introduced to our book about a 'Lucky Duck'
Lenny (the little boy in the story) lost his favourite toy while visiting his Grandma and couldn't find it anywhere, it was only when Lenny grew up and had his own children that he took his son Ben to Grandma's only for Ben to stumble across a very old and tatty looking Duck in the attic.

We spent time talking about our own favourite toys and whether any of these had been passed onto us by our parents.

We also set up a toy museum in class where we spent time writing labels instructing people how to look after the old toys correctly.

We also set up our own toyshop role play area...

World Book Day

A big thank you to Halesworth Bookshop again this year who made it possible for the children to order there books in advance ready to take home with them on the day.

We had a special visit in assembly from Elmer, who shared some stories. In class we stopped to read as many of the children's books that they had bought in from home as possible.

Congratulations to Lenny our Golden Book winner for today for being so enthusiastic with everything we do.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
