Week beginning 13.3.17

What beautiful springy weather we have had this week! We loved the sun shining
and spent a lot of time outdoors.  We have enjoyed reading a new book titled 'Jack Frost' by Kazuno Kohara. This is a story of a boy who meets Jack Frost and experiences his wintery magic until one day the pair saw a snowdrop...time for Jack to go and let Spring begin...
Take a look at our week unfolding starting from us making chocolate hedgehogs.......

Stirring the melted chocolate.

Mixing it all with cornflakes.

Assembling the hedgehogs.

Adding all those very important details.

Ta-da! The hedgehogs are looking at you...

Playing games in PE under the sunshine. Can you go through the hoop without breaking the link??

Our Class swap on Thursday this week was all change when we read to our partners for the first time instead of them reading to us.  Class 4 were most impressed with our reading skills and helped us change our books.  They were also fantastic listeners, thanks.

In maths we have spent all week learning about money and how we can use it to pay for things,  look at this fantastic work; paying for things at the toyshop.

Spring is well and truly here this week as we discovered when we became 'Spring Detectives.'  We took a stroll around Blackheath common looking for evidence of spring.  What a fantastic way to end all of the winter themed learning we have done over the past few weeks.

Pretty daffodils.

Purple periwinkles.

We then used all of this new information we had gathered to create a fantastic collaborative piece of artwork for our weatherproof board in our outdoor area, well done everyone, super teamwork.

Congratulations to Mary; our Golden book winner this week for your super money work in maths.
