Week Beginning 6.3.2017

This week we have continued to work on the story of 'Halibut Jackson'. Children have learnt about making still images by looking closely at some of the pictures in the book. With some friends they made up their own scene and shared it with the rest of the class.

He had a suit he wore to the Park.

Well done children. We can see a flowery park and Halibut Jackson is  trying to blend in...

He had a suit he wore to the shop.

"We chose red to blend in with the apples and purple to blend in with the customers'.

Some creative work developed in the construction area where some children responded to the challenge and built a palace for the queen and king.

We welcomed a new friend to our class this week, here we are making new friends.

Our Halibut Jackson work continued in maths and here we are pulling number sentences from  his hat to solve.
We were subtracting so we chose whether we wanted to count back on our fingers, use a number line or the counting bears to help us.

We also fitted in some more baking; making scones for Halibut's party at the palace-yummy!

As well as all of our independent challenges too, here we are making tricky words with letter stamps and play dough.

Congratulations to John Paul and Eleanor our two Golden book winners today.

Remember your road safety colouring competition entries, hand them back next week.
