Friday 16 November 2018

This week has been a very thoughtful one. Children  learnt about Remembrance Day and why we celebrate it. We talked about why people wear red poppies and how the money raised is used.

Children made poppies and all things red with play dough.

Some of us decorated special medals for the soldiers who died for us.

We walked to the local War Memorial and read some of the messages people have left there.

We had  some quiet time to think about those who lost their lives in the wars and said a big thank you.
Back at school we found an empty big box which soon became very popular amongst the children.
It turned into a jail, a turtle shell a bed and much more....
An empty box...

I'm in jail!

I'm like a turtle!

Two peas in a pod!

Thursday was a very exciting day for all in Class 1 as we welcomed our new sports coach, Mr Sanders...
The children followed his instructions carefully to learn lots of new warm up games, The bean game, The car game and more.
We talked about using space, changing direction, moving in different ways and starting and stopping on a signal.
As you can see, everyone had a wonderful time.

Congratulations to Leonora; Our Golden Book winner this week for being so enthusiastic about everything in class.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
