Week Beginning 19th November 2018

It's celebration Time in Class One!
We started the week talking about all the special events we celebrated over the past few weeks and thought about what other things are there to celebrate. Of course it didn't take long for the children to think about Christmas and birthdays.
We had a chat about everyday things that might not feel like a celebration but they actually mark very important moments in our lives like riding a bicycle without help for the first time, swim, do our shoe laces, start school and many more.
Birthdays were the most popular of all mentioned celebrations so we set off to celebrate.....

Some of us made some incredible cakes using wooden blocks and fruits.

Others made special chocolates for people in need.

"There are chocolates on top of my chocolates"

"Shhhhh......! It's Phoebe's birthday. I'm making some chocolates for her."

Some of us got REALLY busy writing to family and friends. There were birthday cards, party invitations and Well Done certificates being created.

"This is for you, it says come to my party".

And to add a bit of fun why not have a go at 'Pin the Cherry' on the cupcake game?

"I am very good at this because I've been to lots of parties"

"You know, I can do it even better if I have another go".

New friendships have blossomed too.
'Let's hold hands'.

Our party theme also inspired lots of independent mask making...

Working hard to perfect our cutting skills.

We have also had time to fit various Literacy tasks too...

What a busy week, well done everyone.

Preparation for our Christmas play is now well and truly underway and the children should have bought home their letters about costumes today, if for any reason you have not received this please come and ask.

Have a lovely weekend.
