Week Beginning 25th February 2019

Welcome back to you all! We hope you had a lovely rest and enjoyed the wonderful weather.
We started the week launching our new topic 'If you go down to the woods today...'. Children have been introduced to the story of the Gruffalo  by Julia Donaldson. It was very good to see that many of the children were already familiar with the story and enjoyed listening to it again and sharing what they new about it.

With the help of a grown up our cottage has been transformed into a cave for the Gruffalo and other woodland creatures.

A mini woodland setting has been created for the children to retell the story or make up their own version of it.

'Lets' pretend that the shiny pebbles are snake eggs.

Characters mask making has been a very popular activity.

Gruffalo characters have helped us with our maths too; we had to count the number of objects or characters and the work out the number that was 1 more and the number that was 1 fewer.

Outside in the sunshine, we have had some lovely things happening, nature detectives have been busy spotting, catching and recording all of the different bugs and birds they can find or see.

Congratulations to Leighton, our Golden Book winner today.

Remember World Book Day next Thursday, come dressed ready for a bedtime story, in your pyjamas.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
